Direct billing is not automatically available for every massage appointment, insurer, or benefits plan. Before booking, confirm how your own plan handles Registered Massage Therapist (RMT) services and mobile appointments.
For Stillwaters’ complete receipt-first explanation, read the Ontario massage insurance guide.
Check your plan before the appointment
Use your insurer’s member portal or contact the insurer and ask:
Does my plan cover massage therapy provided by an RMT?
Are mobile or in-home appointments eligible?
Is a referral required under my plan?
What annual, per-visit, or reasonable-and-customary limits apply?
Is direct billing available for my plan and this provider?
What information must appear on the receipt?
Coverage and claim procedures vary. A professional receipt can support a claim, but it does not guarantee reimbursement.
If direct billing is unavailable
You may need to pay for the appointment and submit the receipt through your insurer’s portal or app. Keep the receipt and any claim confirmation for your records. The insurer—not the massage therapist—decides whether a claim is eligible under your plan.
Before booking Stillwaters
Use the Stillwaters online booking page or contact Stillwaters to confirm service-area availability and discuss any direct-billing requirement before the appointment. Do not send policy numbers or other sensitive insurance information through an unsecured general enquiry.
