3 Tools You Can Use In Between Massages

Updated: Apr 5

Self care is important, especially to live pain free, so while you wait for your next massage, there are things you can do at home to help relieve pain in your muscle. Instead of trying to reach the pain with your hands, here are 3 tools that will help.

1. A Foam Roller

Foam Roller

This inexpensive tool is great for stretching the back or any sore muscles you can reach. If you overwork your muscles this is a great tool as well.

There are many different sizes available, some with smooth surfaces, and other with ridges. Try what will work best for you.

If you don't have too much pain, you can use a smooth one.

If you want something to get into the fascia, a foam roller like the one pictured would be best.

2. Massage Gun

If you have more money to invest, a massage gun will do wonders for your self care routine. A luxury experience, it will almost be as good as a professional massage (although nothing can beat that)

If you suffer from arthritis, this tool is especially helpful since you will not have to put in any force to work it. The machine does it all. You just have to relax into it.

We highly recommend this tool as the one with the least effort and maximum results in reliving muscle aches.

3. Tennis Ball

Tennis Ball

Yes, a tennis ball! That is our final suggestion. If your budget is small, this is the one to get.

It is effective in hitting specific pain points, and doesn't require much space to store.

Similar to a foam roll, you will use force against it to work the sore muscles, but it only targets a small area at a time. This is great if you have a knot.

To live a life as pain free as possible, self care in between massages is key. These tools are great to have in your self care kit. Whether you have a few dollars to spend, or can invest more.
